The STEAD School is an unequivocal supporter of all identities and welcomes all students and families in whatever form they come. We do not discriminate against or give preference to any gender identities or sexual orientations, and will always give preference to the chosen identities of our students in all communications and naming conventions. We strive to create a space that is safe for all students and community members and provide the supports they need to feel welcome and included in all things we do at STEAD.

Equity Stances

The STEAD School intentionally incorporates Equity Stances into our PBL planning process. We work with the Center of Love and Justice to train our teachers for liberatory PBL that celebrates all students' unique identities!

The Center on Colfax resource bank – This is a fantastic resource for all types of connections.

Colorado Crisis Service1-844-493-8255 or Text “TALK” to 38255. This resource is not just for students, but is a free service provided by the State of Colorado who are seeking help from a professional service.

The Trevor Project – This is a resource of trained counselors dedicated to LGBTQIA+ students specifically.

As is often the case, students may feel most comfortable conversing with a trusted teacher of their choosing. STEAD strives to be that place where students can feel safe, and intentionally builds its curriculum and structures to communicate this verbally and non-verbally. Everyone has a place at STEAD!
